The realistic probability would of been Reggie. I also believe for the right coach the boosters would open up the pocket books. I would love to have Shaka Smart here, but he might be out of the price range.

In a perfect world, I would absolutely would LOVE to have Shaka Smart here. He would instantly bring so much credibility to the program. I'm not as high on Reggie as others, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't necessarily give him a shot. Howland... no. just no.

All of the coaches I want are out of our price range. And no to Reggie.

If our football program was invested in properly early on we could. We would most likely be in the PAC 12 instead of Utah.

I hate ppl who clamour for Reggie and think he's some savior.
He's up there, but not my top choice. He's CDR but a better motivator.
That honor goes to either Russell Turner, George Karl, or Marvin Menzies.

With a good AHC, it could work out. He's an NBA guy, so that brings credibility with recruiting. Though I've been suspect of his game coaching. He's a great motivator who gets the most of his players.

What do you guys think about Howland? I think he would have taken the job if offered. He has been to the final four before.

George Carl would bring the "big name" factor... I too am suspect of his coaching tho. He was never good at game to game adjustments in the playoffs. For instance in 1996, it took him 3 games to have Gary Payton guard MJ. My Lakers usually got the better end of his Nuggets back in the 2000's. He's also 62. Still I appreciate the fact that his teams always played hard.

He'd bring a boring style of play (though he is known to have been able to adjust) and that would drive many Rebel fans nuts. I would not though as long as if he won.

People do forget that Howland is a very good coach. Not to say he would be my first choice, but the man has been to final fours. Plus Pitt was nothing when he got there.
